Rising costs and expenses rob our beneficiaries of the basic financial freedom they deserve in their time of need. Financial help is viewed as an opportunity to say “we care” to those in our floor covering industry family. The Foundation’s dual criteria for grants are Behind every assistance grant we have made is a story of crisis and perseverance—of a real person struggling through a difficult time. We are helping to keep unexpected setbacks from turning into permanent roadblocks. |

| How We Got Our Start | ||
| The Floor Covering Industry Foundation (FCIF) was founded in 1980 by the late Walter Guinan along with a several prominent industry figures. Since the beginning, the Foundation’s mission has been to help those in the flooring business or trade who have encountered a life-altering hardship.
The Foundation was created with the objective of focusing the attention and resources of the floor covering industry on the health, human service, and welfare needs of our industry colleagues. FCIF provides a lifeline to members of our industry family in need of financial assistance. Since its founding, FCIF has given more than $2.5 million to help those in need. Beneficiaries include retailers, installers, retail salespeople, distributor personnel, mill employees, and executives. |
