Despite being born with clubfoot, John pursued a career in the flooring industry. For a span of 32 years, he worked in various roles, from a creeler to a hyster driver and even as a twister maintenance worker. However, in April 2019, a diagnosis of foot drop forever changed John's life. With the diagnosis including peripheral neuropathy and damage to his peripheral nervous system, John found himself navigating symptoms of debilitating foot numbness and relentless pain. Unable to continue working paired with frequent doctor visits, John faced an immense financial burden on his family. Fortunately, John's employer connected him with the Flooring Covering Industry Foundation, which helped cover mortgage payments and the cost of his medical care. Thanks to FCIF's support, John and his wife Angie were able to navigate adversity and return to enjoying their lives together in Fairmount, GA.
