Marie, a tufting machine operator and technician from Tunnel Hill, GA with over 30 years of experience in the flooring industry, had her life forever changed in April 2023 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. "I went from working 40 plus hours a week to not being able to work. . . Not being able to provide was stressful" Marie shared. The financial strain became overwhelming as she navigated both her recovery and reduced income.
Marie applied for assistance and was approved for a grant by the FCIF that helped with her mortgage, utilities, transportation costs, and medical care. "This foundation has been a pillar of hope in dark times. It’s a blessing that this foundation is here for people that need it,” she said.
Marie’s story reflects her strength and the profound impact of FCIF's support during one of the most challenging times in her life. She expressed her gratitude to FCIF and its donors: "May God bless the donors tenfold."
