For over ten years, Susan worked in the flooring industry as the owner of a flooring restoration business, taking pride in the work she did and the team she built.
Life took an unexpected turn when Susan was diagnosed with Grade 2 breast cancer. As she began treatment and adjusted to the challenges that came with her diagnosis, she was also battling osteoporosis, a condition that continued to weaken her bones and impact her daily life. Eventually, her declining health forced her to stop working altogether.
The physical, emotional, and financial strain quickly became overwhelming. Between ongoing treatments, medication costs, and the loss of income from her business, Susan faced growing uncertainty while trying to focus on her health and recovery.
During this difficult chapter, the Floor Covering Industry Foundation stepped in with a grant that helped ease the financial burden and provided much-needed stability during an incredibly challenging time. The support gave Susan and her family the ability to focus on healing instead of constant financial fear.
Today, Susan continues her treatment journey with gratitude and renewed hope, knowing she is supported by a flooring industry community that truly cares.
Susan shared, “FCIF saved our home multiple times while I was battling breast cancer. You gave us hope, joy, and peace of mind when we needed it most.”
